Adobe released CS4, nVidia bought PhysX, improved and implemented it into their GPUs
That’s right! Adobe released the next generation of their industry-standard developer suite. Adobe Creative Suite 4(simply CS4) is available in 6 variants – Design Standard, Design Premium, Web Standard, Web Premium, Production Premium and the all-in-one Master Collection, in a manner similar to the variants of the previous CS3. A table for comparison is available at Adobe’s website, along with all promo materials and further information. It’s possible to preorder the new CS4 from Adobe’s online shop.
NVidia has also been quite active these days, it acquired AGEIA PhysX™ not long ago and they’ve managed to improve, integrate and implement their software solutions(technologies) quite well into its 8**** and 9**** generation of models, as well as its new line of GPUs very fast. Not only that but they’ve already introduced new PhysX-enabled hardware components for their GPUs. A recent news article points that NVidia is the first to ship the new OpenGL® 3.0 standard, pumping its status as the leading industry’s best chipsets & GPUs manifacturer to new, even higher ranks. Plus, it looks like Intel approves and prefers their products over AMD/ATI’s. MaximimPC also wrote a very interesting article on NVidia’s new technology(the 3D Goggle gamble), explaining its main qualities and possibilities quite well for all non-specialsts like myself.
On a side note, the gaming industry isn’t sleeping as well, serving a good amount of new quality – overhyped games for all platfroms for all to enjoy. 🙂
